Sunny for most of Ireland on Friday

Thursday will be a bright and sunny day away from northern and eastern facing coastal locations. Some light showers will occur in coastal counties in the northwest, north and east.

It will turn increasingly overcast in the afternoon along the east coast.

Temperatures will be 2-3c below average for the time of year and will range from 6-8c. It will feel 1-2c colder in the gentle breeze.

Winds will be gentle north-westerly (15-20km/h) or northerly in most areas but they will be stronger (25-30 km/h)  in northern and eastern coastal areas. Northerly winds will become light away from northern and eastern coasts on Thursday night.

OUTLOOK: Largely dry and bright up to midweek but remaining cooler than average for the time of year. Rain is expected on Wednesday but remaining cool.
