Status Yellow rainfall warning for five counties

A Status Yellow rainfall alert has been issued for five counties in Leinster.

Met Éireann's alert warning for Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow and Meath remains effective until 9.00pm on Thursday.

Spells of heavy rain will lead to some spot flooding.

The unsettled start to November follows a wetter than average October across much of Leinster (more info).

However, drier and calmer conditions are expected across Ireland during the course of next week (more info).
