Norway gripped by record cold temps

Oslo, Norway, by Stein Hernes.

The season’s first major snowfall in Southern Norway set off lots of accidents prompting state meteorologists to sending out warnings that slippery road conditions could worsen.

The above picture postcard scene from Oslo, Norway, was taken by Stein Hernes following snowfall yesterday. 

Thermometers farther north, meanwhile, have been showing record cold temps for November, with -29C in Bardufoss.
