Commenting on the background to his photo, Conor told us: "As well as The Milky Way, this image features Jupiter (left of the road and over the lake). The Seven Sister or M45 (to the right of and below Jupiter) and the andromeda galaxy, which is our Milky Way's closest neighbor. It is the most distant object in the sky that you can see with the naked eye. In this picture it can be seen to the right of the road and just above the horizon."
Conor added: "I want to make reference to International Dark Sky Week (5th-10th April). So few people in the developed world who live in and around the cities and towns get to see skies like this which is a shame. On nights like these you can watch the sky for hours with complete fascination. So with a little education and thoughtfulness people will become aware of the skies above and can do their little bit to help bring back the night sky.
