With people having time off and travelling around the country, the weather will, as always, play an important part for those planning on heading out and about.
An area of low pressure will give some wet and windy weather for many on Saturday, with a yellow warning in force for England and Wales. This will clear to the east on Sunday leaving some drier and brighter conditions for most, lasting into Monday across eastern parts of the country. However, another depression is expected to sweep in from the Atlantic during Monday bringing further wet and windy conditions to the west.
Met Office Chief Forecaster Eddy Carroll said: "Around 50 mm of rain are expected locally across parts of England and Wales on Saturday, with winds potentially reaching 50 mph around southern coasts. However, the weather is likely to improve for many during the latter part of the holiday weekend."
There are also a number of events taking place across the UK this weekend including: Reading and Leeds music festivals, Edinburgh international festival, Notting Hill carnival, and Paralympic Torch Relay festivities up and down the country. The latest weather forecast for any event can be found on the Met Office Events webpage (UK).
