Thunderstorms Push North, Clearing Later


A series of fast moving thunderstorms are continuing to push north across the country.

Tony Mc Connell captured the above shot of a bolt of lightning in County Monaghan this evening.

Lightning strikes have been recorded north of Westmeath into central parts of Ulster. The below lightning radar screenshot from 9:15PM shows the latest lightning strikes (highlighted in red). 


Thunderstorms will continue to affect Ulster over the next two hours. A clearance will follow around midnight before further heavy showers spread northeastwards across the country around dawn.
