An attempt to refloat a ship which went aground off the Irish east coast last night is expected to get underway later this evening.
Strong winds and rough seas contributed to the grounding of ‘The Arklow Raider’ at The mouth of the River Boyne as it was leaving Drogheda port.
The vessel, which is carrying a cargo of cement, is expected to be refkoated later this evening. Its crew of seven remains on board.
These images of the vessel were taken this evening by John Hall, who emailed editor@irishweatheronline.com.
